Dear all,

i am new here and hope to seek friends and alittle help from all.

my 2008 w211 driver door handle is behaving erratically and will lock and unlock as it wishes. (when i try to lock, it does not and when i try to unlock, it does not again) I tried to use other handles to lock and unlock and it works. Also tried to use the "insertion method" to allow the car to recognise the key but the same issue still occur.

Hence I am thinking of repairing the handle as I believe it is just a chip issue. As this is a common issue, can i seek anyone's advise as to where can i repair it in Singapore at more "sane" price rather than C&C? I am not sure if i should change as i think it will cost me a bomb again...

Please assist or suggest to me where i can repair or if changing it is inevitable, then where and how much...

Sorry i am long windered and i am damn sian with this handle issue as i cannot find solutions to it....

Thanks bro. I actually changed some of my stuff there after intro by friends. But my experience was not positive though their workmanship is ok. Hence looking if there are other options....Anyone please suggest or help?

You may want to try Chip Soon Auto at Tampines St 93 Blk 9002 @ Tel +65 67862811 ... the Svc Supervisor was formerly with C&C ;-)

I had a W211 (2008), Had both the right door handles changed due to similar problem.

I had it done (replaced) by MBM. Cost me $350/ each.

Another place is Autotecknic at Changi Business Park. But may cost more, but work standard V good.

Thank you to all who have replied. I see that this is indeed a great and helpful forum! I am glad i join you guys! (btw where to get the club decal huh? hahahaha)

In any case, I did a comparison of a few workshops and finally settled on a workshop that can do the change of the handle at 200+ (inclusive of paint wk). Anyway i understand that in UK, there are workshops that can change the internal chip connection which is causing the malfunction but sadly there are no workshops that can do this service in Singapore.

Anyone who has similar issue and want to change at this workshop that i found, please do not hesitate to pm me and i can pass you the contacts.
